No doubt that all of us are busy a lot in establishing a well-maintained life for ourselves and our family members. But in between all of this, we are not able to find out the time to maintain our physical and mental health. It becomes a really tough task when it comes to finding out time for a little physical exercise or for meditation. Overall, maintaining a healthy lifestyle in our busy life has become a tough task.
However if we follow right strategies and make room for some good habits, then we can easily adapt to a healthier lifestyle to keep ourselves in good health. In this article we are going to explore some options which will help us in maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
1. It starts with hydration: All of us know that drinking water is good for our health but we barely drink enough water. If someone randomly asks you a question – “Did you had your 8 glasses of water today?”, the chances of getting a “no” as the answer are higher. Simply because our schedules are hectic and we easily forget to drink water. But hydration is very important for us to be in good health and maintain overall well being. So, prioritize hydration and try to drink eight glasses of water everyday. Remember, excess of everything is bad and this fact applies on drinking water as well.
2.What to drink in limit: We just discussed that drinking water is essential. But there are many other drinks apart from water. One such drink is the alcohol. Excessive alcohol consumption can lead to various health conditions like cancer, heart disease or even problems related to your breath. Try to reduce the alcohol intake and quit, if possible to lead a healthy lifestyle.
3. Food that has nutrition: Of course we eat food and nobody is alive without food. But eating just any food and eating food with nutrition are two different things. Because of our busy schedules, we are often attracted towards processed food or ready to make food which consumes no to very less time in making. But that food contains a lot of sugar, salt and unhealthy fats which is not good for maintaining a healthy lifestyle. To overcome this problem, we need to include fruits, vegetables, proteins and whole greens in our food. These things are nutritious and good for our health. It won’t happen overnight but if we plan just a day before, then we can take a major step towards keeping us in good health. For this, you need to include these good elements in your food to make it more nutritious.
4. Old But Gold- Exercise: No matter how good you eat or drink, the wonders exercise can do to your body are unmatchable. Some surveys suggest that 140-150 minutes of moderate exercise each week is good for maintaining a healthy lifestyle. One of the tremendous benefit of exercise is that it keeps your heart healthy and be in good health. In this way, you can stay away from cardiac diseases which are becoming very common in this new, modern, hectic, work-oriented life which is faraway from a healthy lifestyle.

5. Check Your Health: Sometimes there are problems which we cannot recognize on our own and for that we need to take the help of a specialist. For this, schedule health checkups every once in a while and ask your health care provider about your internal body functions. Make sure you are examined thoroughly to know details of your well-being.
6.Emotional Support: To be honest, if you want to survive in this fast-paced world, you need a safe space where you can slow down. So, have your connections with people whom you genuine like, who like you genuinely and plan meetings with them. Meet them face to face, disconnect from your work and reconnect with your own people. Share your happy and sad moments with them. Doing so is very important to maintain a healthy lifestyle. You will definitely feel light.
7. Watch What You Eat: Sometimes what happens is we are eating good nutritious food but still we have problem in digestion. This can happen because we are eating very fast and we are not chewing it properly. So, try to give reasonable time for your breakfast, lunch and dinner. Try to enjoy every bite by chewing the food properly so that our intestines don’t have to work extra hours to digest the food we ate. Food that is easy to digest, helps us in being in good health.
Whenever you are getting late for work, try to avoid fast food and snacking. Instead try grabbing a fruit juice or a fruit or something which has less cholesterol & calories and more vitamins & nutrients.
8. Command on the Stress: These days nobody is immune to stress. Stress has taken over each and every person in one way or the other. Try to get command over this stress. Do not stress out day and night. Keep a time limit on this stress. Keep a stress-free time in your schedule where you will not stress about anything. Do some stress relieving activities like meditation, walking in the garden, deep breathing, exercising, yoga, etc. You can simply sit in your balcony and look over the flowers. These activities are essential for maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
9. Quality of Sleep: We all have been through those mornings where we slept for 7-8 hours in the night, but in the morning, we wake up tired. This happens because of our sleep quality being poor. Also, sometimes we have to sacrifice our sleep in order to fulfill the targets that we have for the next day. Sometimes, we sacrifice our sleep to simply increase our productivity. Quality sleeping is very essential for our physical and mental health. If we don’t have quality sleep, we won’t be able to lead a healthy lifestyle. It will take a toll on our emotional well-being as well. So try to be consistent regarding your bedtime and create an environment which will help you in getting a quality sleep. For instance , use relaxing music, scented candles or dim lights for better experience.
10. Underrated Gratitude: This is not a lie. We all must have heard in any video or read it somewhere that we should practice gratitude. Gratitude is good for our emotional well being. Apart from that, it also works well with the universe. The more we are thankful to the universe about the good things that we have in our life, the universe gives us more chances to be grateful. So, whatever good things that you have in your life, try to be grateful for them. Expressing gratitude is a way to lead a healthy lifestyle. If you don’t want to say it to anyone, say it to yourself that you are happy for your house, parents, family, loved ones, food that you eat, money that you earn. and so on. Be grateful to the universe and universe will give you more chances to be grateful.
In conclusion, if you really want to prioritize your physical health and emotional well-being, then you have to work towards it. In order to maintain a healthy lifestyle, you have to pay attention towards your health with intention and commitment. If you incorporate these above given tips in your daily routine, it is positive that your life will change for the good. But nothing happens overnight. So slowly incorporate these changes into your daily life, follow them consistently and then wait for the magic to happen. Remember, consistency is the key to be in good health. If you do all these things for one day and then you skip it, then it won’t do wonders. You have to be consistent for all these things for at least six months or a year.
